The Challenge
Higher Health wasn't just an early SKED adopter — they are the reason it exists. Higher Health Chiropractic owner Erik Kowalke, DC founded SKED after his own practice hit a wall: nearly 300 patient visits a day, a phone that never stopped ringing, and a team buried in voicemails for appointments that should have taken two clicks to reschedule.
"We were getting voicemails in the middle of the day because we couldn't handle the volume of calls. There had to be a better solution to keep our team free and patient-facing as much as possible."

Scheduling That Runs Itself
By taking front-desk friction out of the equation and giving patients full control over their schedules, SKED turned daily admin into a background process. 152,374 appointments were managed through SKED in 2025. At three to five minutes per interaction, the math speaks for itself. Patients reschedule from their phones, new patient paperwork goes out automatically, and the front desk stays focused on the people actually in the building.
"Most individuals are adjusting the appointments we prebuilt for them to actually work with their schedules. And then guess what? They show up."

At Higher Health's satellite clinic, Cheryl runs the floor solo. SKED handles the rest. She can swipe a patient into a room mid-conversation and they get a text telling them exactly where to go — without interrupting her face-to-face connection.
"I can literally be in conversation, swipe somebody into a room, and they'll get a text saying 'Hey Joe, scan into room one.' They get up and go."

Higher Health has amassed over 800 Google reviews (and climbing), most of them generated without a single manual ask. SKED automatically sends review requests right after a great visit, when a patient's experience is still fresh in their memory. The result shows up where new patients look first.
"Before, we had to be crazy intentional. Whereas when they get that review request five minutes after their appointment, that's what they're already thinking about."
